Privacy Policy

At Feezy, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your information when you use the Feezy website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time. Submit a Data Deletion Request and we will confirm and complete it over email.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to run fee collection for your institute. What we hold depends on whether you are an institute administrator or a member such as a student, parent, trainee, tenant, or resident.

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number, and your role at the institute
  • Member records: enrolment, batch or plan, fee schedule, and payment status, entered by the institute
  • Transaction data: amount, date, status, and a payment reference for each fee paid
  • Usage and device data: log data, IP address, and basic analytics used to keep the Platform secure and reliable

We do not ask for government identifiers, and we store them only if an institute chooses to add them to a member record.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information only to provide, secure, and improve the Platform.

  • To create and manage accounts and institute workspaces
  • To process fee payments and generate invoices and receipts
  • To send fee reminders, confirmations, and service notices over WhatsApp, SMS, and email
  • To provide support and to keep the Platform free of fraud and abuse
  • To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Payment & Financial Data

Feezy is not a bank and does not hold your money beyond the time a payment takes to settle. Payments are processed by our regulated partners, Razorpay and Cashfree.

  • Card numbers, UPI credentials, and bank passwords are collected and processed directly by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partners, never stored on Feezy servers
  • Feezy retains only transaction records such as amount, date, status, and a reference, for receipts and reconciliation
  • Payout details for institutes are handled through the payment partner and used only to settle collected fees

Your fee and payment history is visible to you and to the institute you transact with.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal data only where it is needed to run the service or where the law requires it. We never sell it.

  • With your institute: administrators of the institute you belong to can see your member and payment records
  • With service providers: payment gateways (Razorpay, Cashfree), messaging providers (WhatsApp, SMS, email), and hosting and analytics vendors, each under their own terms
  • For legal reasons: to comply with a law, court order, or valid request from an authority, or to protect our rights and our users

Service providers may process your data only for the purpose we engage them for.

5. Messaging & Communications

Fee reminders and receipts are a core part of the service, so members may receive messages about their fees when an institute uses Feezy.

  • Reminders and confirmations are sent over WhatsApp, SMS, or email using the contact details on the member record
  • These are service messages tied to your fees, not marketing
  • You can ask your institute to stop or change the reminders sent to you

WhatsApp messages are delivered through the WhatsApp Cloud API and are subject to WhatsApp's own terms.

6. Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.

  • Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel and to the member's own institute
  • We monitor for abuse and apply access controls across our systems

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will act and notify you as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed.

  • Account and member data is retained while the account is active
  • After an account is closed, personal data is deleted following the 90 day window described below
  • Transaction and invoice records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it

Retained records are limited to what the law obliges us to keep.

8. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have rights over your personal data.

  • To access and review the personal data we hold about you
  • To request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • To request deletion of your account and personal data
  • To withdraw consent or raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Contact below)

Some records may be retained where the law requires it, even after a deletion request.

9. Account Deletion

You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time.

  • Submit a request through the Data Deletion form or by email
  • We verify the request within 2 business days
  • Personal data is permanently deleted after a 90 day retention window, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons

To start, submit a Data Deletion Request and we will confirm and complete it over email.

10. Children & Minors

Feezy is used by institutes that may serve students under 18. Accounts are created and managed by adults: the institute and, where relevant, a parent or guardian.

  • Members under 18 must not create their own Feezy login; a parent, guardian, or the institute acts on their behalf
  • Member records for minors are entered and controlled by the institute

If you believe a minor has created an account directly, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Cookies & Analytics

The Feezy website and app use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Platform is used.

  • Essential cookies keep your session active and secure
  • Analytics help us measure performance and improve the product

You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the date shown below and, where appropriate, notify you by email or within the Platform.

Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
